Claims Scenario

An environmental driller was boring holes while taking soil samples of a property when they accidentally damaged some underground utilities. A wastewater pipe burst and leaked into the surrounding soil requiring the contractor to remove the contaminated soil. The total cost of the spill, excavation, and repairs totaled over $250,000 in defense and damages.

Recent Success

We recently worked on an account for a $1.3M abatement contractor needing GL/CPL/E&O and a $2M Excess policy. We helped our agent win the account by providing a full coverage review of our quotes versus the expiring program. The coverage offered a competitive premium and broader coverage for the insured compared to the expiring program. Additionally, we provided a reduced revenue quote option for the insured before binding based on the instability of the insured’s projected revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By offering a flexible solution and tools to compare and sell the coverage, ALTA helped the agent bind the account. As a result, the insured secured an insurance program designed to fit their needs. The total premium was $11,300.
