Contractor’s Pollution Liability (CPL) & Incidental Professional Liability (PL)

Environmental and Non-environmental contractors may be eligible for a combined CPL & Incidental PL policy. To be eligible for Professional Liability, the PL exposure must be truly “incidental” in scope.  Most artisan and specialty trade contractors generally eligible for this product.

Coverage protects the policyholder from wrongful acts committed by the insured during their performance of professional services. This policy is offered on a claims-made basis.

The Professional Liability (PL) policy is suitable for many environmental consultants, engineers, and laboratories, including:

  • Environmental engineering and consulting
  • UST/AST design and consulting
  • Mold inspecting and consulting
  • Environmental compliance, feasibility studies, and inspections
  • Wetlands/design/consulting
  • Geotechnical engineering and consulting
  • Phase I, II, and III assessments
  • Environmental lab analysis, packing, and testing
  • Indoor air quality sampling, consulting, and management
  • Health and safety training and consulting
  • Environmental compliance and feasibility studies
  • Waste brokers
  • Alternative energy consultants (wind, solar, water, bio-mass)

Policy Benefits

  • Coverage is written through an A.M. Best A- or better rated carrier
  • Available in a combined package with other environmental coverages such as Contractors Pollution Liability, Transportation Pollution Liability and General Liability
  • Available on both a practice or project-specific basis

  • $75,000 sublimit for emergency response costs
